I rented a sweet little two-bedroom cottage on the Central Boise Rim to take a break from pets and have a quiet space to myself to host my girls when they came to visit. I didn't realize how much of a reprieve I would need until I returned from Driggs. The cottage was an adorable, quirky but cozy place I had from November 20th through Christmas Eve.

I was able to fully unpack my suitcase for the first time in two months, and actually bought more than a week's worth of groceries. Throughout my Boise stay, I got to go on a lot of long walks and catch up with some old friends from high school and college.

I did have one sit planned during this time - Thanksgiving weekend - but it was just two little kitties in a great North End home. Benny & Joon were really easy, so soft and cuddly, and cute as heck to watch. Benny ended up being really tech saavy.

Thanksgiving also included the Turkey Day 5K with 7,000 runners (I forgot how big holiday are in Boise!) and Kate. It felt good to run around downtown Boise again with someone who's been a running buddy since college. After the run, I met my oldest sister, Colleen, her daughter Katie, two of my grandnephews, and their friends for the Zootopia 2 matinee. My review: Adorable! No notes.

We enjoyed the annual Festival of Trees at the Boise Centre on the Grove, then I ended up hosting a last-minute "orphan Thanksgiving" potluck dinner with Colleen and Kate. We were going to go out for dinner, but I neglected to make those reservations in September, so everyplace was booked. Who knew so many people don't cook on Thanksgiving?!
