Park Runs

Ruby's owners are both runners and told me to join their running group for the Tuesday morning runs. They even reached out to a neighbor and the group leader to let them know I'd be joining Baildon Runners. The group was so inviting, much like my running friends back home, and the workout was pretty hard for me! They are mostly retired, but fit! And they invited me to join them for coffee afterward, which was really wonderful. (With the exception of wanting to discuss their dismay of American politics, which I don't even want to get into right now.)

They also told me about Park Runs: a program in which every Saturday in every park in the UK there is a run event. You register for free online at https://www.parkrun.org.uk to get a barcode, then show up at your nearby park run and show your barcode to get a bib and a time for your chosen option of distances. I registered and planned to attend at Roberts Park, but ended up oversleeping when my late-night work schedule caught up to me. Ruby and I went down at the end of her walk, and the turnout was incredible. They even get medals! It would have been a nice piece of memorabilia from this trip, but sleep came first.

Here's some photos of the Baildon Running group Tuesday workout and Roberts Park Saturday Park Run from our walk.
