Hi friends!
My plan to become a digital nomad once my kids moved out of the house is well underway! This eventful summer helped me culminate my dream into reality. I was fortunate to be laid off at the end of June (I know, weird thing to say, but IYKYK re: my last agency.) I was elated to have an opportunity to take a break from work and immediately began tearing up the bathroom floor. Within a couple weeks, I refinished my bathroom and painted my bedroom. I cleared out my personal belongings, staged the house, and secured renters to move in at the end of September.
With my house plan covered, I half-heartedly applied for the required jobs for unemployment, filled in for a friend to take care of a 101-year-old man, and had as many outdoor adventures as possible.
With the support of my sweet friends Rachel, Anna, and my partner, Wayne, I finished the Run Like a Girl half-marathon: the first big run distance since my accident 2 years ago. Wayne and I also worked in a couple of bikepacking trips to Shaw Island with friends and Lopez Island.
I was also able to do three epic backpacking trips: Mount Rainier, The Enchantments and the PCT from Bridge Creek to Stehekin. Such incredible adventures with the most amazing group of women (and a couple of their hubbies.)

In August, Abby and I ventured to Alaska for the Salmon Fest music weekend with my friend Tammy, and Abby's friend Audrey. We ended up catching our salmon limit on the Kenai River on the way to Ninilchick!
I headed to Kalamazoo College to move Abby to school, and from there went to Oslo, Norway to meet up with Wayne for a week (see separate post.) My Stehekin adventure capped my summer with Bellingham friends. I was home for one last week to get packed, and then headed to Boise. See you in 6 months, Bellingham!
